Ninh Binh - Halong Bay

Day 1: Hanoi arrival (Meal: N/A)
Welcome to Hanoi , the 1000 year old capital of Vietnam. The name Hanoi actually means ‘Inside the river' and other name in the past like Thang Long means Ascending Dragon. Once the capital of French Indochina, the European structural style made its mark in the city's architecture, which you might quickly notice in the city center area.
Depending on your location of hotel, you may pass Old Quarter and its 36 streets – the historical heart of the 1000-year-old merchant city whose street’s names are originated from the goods produced and sold there: Cotton, Iron, Sugar, Traditional Medicine and so on. Optional stop at Ma May Street to visit the Ancient House of Vietnamese – the characteristic feature of traditional Hanoi architecture. The rest of the day is free for your relaxation. Overnight in Hanoi.
Day 2: Hanoi – Ninh Binh (Meal: B)
In the morning we depart for Ninh Binh – known widely as “Halong Bay inland”. With first impression, Ninh Binh does look like Halong Bay because there we have limestone monoliths topped by dense greenery that emerge from water. But unlike the famous Halong Bay, Ninh Binh owns vast green paddy field, small islets with rivers flowing through them and caves formed in them, expanding mountains and the idyllic scene of countryside of Northern Vietnam.
On arrival, first we visit Mua Cave, a picturesque landscape draws attentions of thousand tourists. The way leading to the cave formed by a long stone staircase zigzags through the karst, there are nearly 500 steps to a simple altar to Quan Am (the Goddess of Mercy). From here, the overview of the whole river below creates breath-taking view. Then we take a boat ride on the river surrounded by numerous vegetation-clad limestone pitons. In this leisure two hour boat trip, we follow the large river and capture the peaceful landscapes passing by. Sometimes, the boat rows into small caves shaped like a tunnel, the waterway is much narrower here and the boat comes close to the shore of reeds. Relax your mind and enjoy the time floating among nature.
After boat tour, we have an afternoon bike tour through villages and sugarcane farms among a serene rural settings. Time to get closer to local habitants’ daily lives, smell and touch the scent of fresh vegetable, fruit trees and rice field. Transfer back and overnight at hotel in Hanoi.
Day 3: Hanoi – Halong Bay (Meal: B, L, D)
Morning depart for Halong, the most beautiful bay of Vietnam, one of the most beautiful landscapes of Asia. It is famous for thousands of limestone karsts of all shapes and sizes emerging from the emerald waters, with magnificent cellars eroded in the islands and islets over the centuries by the wind and the sea.
On arrival, welcome by cruise staff and embark with the shuttle boat for short transfer (approximately 5 minutes) to the main cruise. Welcome cocktail and check-in on board.
Enjoy your lunch while cruise passing by some of the most scenic locations mountains and a floating village. In the afternoon, swimming, kayaking if weather permitted (Kayak is on your own expense). Do not miss the chance to capture breath taking and sunset scene on the bay. In the evening, dinner is served while the cruise anchored in quiet water area. Overnight on board.
